Firecracker Safety Tips
🛡️ Your safety is our priority. Please follow these guidelines to enjoy a safe and happy Diwali with your family.
Before Bursting Crackers
- Buy crackers only from licensed dealers and check for a valid manufacturing/expiry date.
- Always burst crackers in an open, outdoor area, away from buildings, dry leaves, and flammable material.
- Keep a bucket of water or sand, and a wet cloth, ready nearby at all times.
- Wear cotton clothing — avoid loose or synthetic clothes that can catch fire easily.
- Read and follow the instructions printed on each cracker before lighting it.
While Bursting Crackers
- Adults must supervise children at all times — never let young children light crackers unsupervised.
- Light one cracker at a time and move to a safe distance immediately after lighting.
- Never hold lit crackers (like sparklers) close to your face, hair, or clothing.
- Never point rockets, sky shots, or any cracker at another person, animal, vehicle, or building.
- Burst crackers only during the hours permitted by your local authorities.
- Keep elderly family members, pets, and anyone sensitive to noise or smoke in a safe, quiet area indoors.
If Something Goes Wrong
- Never attempt to re-light a "dud" or partially burnt cracker — douse it in water instead.
- In case of a minor burn, immediately run cool water over the affected area and seek medical help if needed.
- Keep emergency numbers (fire, ambulance) handy and know the location of the nearest hospital.
After Bursting Crackers
- Douse all used and unused cracker remains thoroughly in water before disposing of them.
- Store any unused crackers in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and any source of flame.
